The UK CGT Calculator supports activity file exports from the brokers below. Follow the step-by-step instructions to export your transactions and upload them directly to our free CGT calculator.
Interactive Brokers (IBKR) CSV
Interactive Brokers activity statements are the primary supported format. The parser handles stocks, options, bonds, dividends, and interest in a single export.
How to export your IBKR activity statement
Log in to IBKR Client Portal or Trader Workstation (TWS).
Navigate to Performance & Reports → Statements.
Select Activity as the statement type.
Set the date range to cover the full UK tax year: 6 April YYYY to 5 April YYYY+1. For historical pool accuracy, include all years since you first held shares.
Set the format to CSV.
Download the file (named something like Activity_2024-25.csv).
Tip: If you have held shares across multiple tax years, download one activity statement per year and upload all files together. The calculator will process them chronologically to build accurate Section 104 pools.
Charles Schwab CSV
Schwab exports in several CSV formats. The calculator auto-detects both standard Schwab exports and Schwab EAC (Equity Award Center) formats used for RSUs and ESPPs.
How to export from Charles Schwab
Log in to your Schwab account at schwab.com.
Go to Accounts → History.
Set the date range to cover the full UK tax year.
Click Export and choose CSV.
For equity awards (RSUs/ESPP), export from Equity Award Center separately.
Note: Only Vanguard general investment accounts (GIA) are subject to CGT. Vanguard ISAs and SIPPs are exempt.
Other Brokers (CGTCalculator Format)
Don't see your broker? You can use the CGTCalculator text format to manually enter trades from any broker. This is a simple plain-text format that our calculator also accepts.
Refer to the FAQ for details on the CGTCalculator format, or contact us to request support for your broker.
